Theme Parks

There are numerous theme parks in the Orlando area and each has its own attractions and reasons for visiting. Apart from the fact that they are all themed and contain rides, they are all unique.

When visiting a park, take your time and make sure that you do what you have intended to do. There are many stories of people who wanted to see a particular show or go on a particular ride but put it off because of the length of the queue or the weather and ended up missing out completely. You will queue (unless you go out of season and then it's best to avoid Saturdays if possible) and it will probably rain at some point. But the rain is warm, you're dry in minutes and the queues are never as bad as they seem.

One thing that you will notice is that each park makes a daily parking charge (the price will be included in the relevant section of this guide), however, if you leave a park and return later, parking is free (as long as you still have the original parking pass).

TOP TIP - WHEN VISITING A THEME PARK, IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO GET THERE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. ALL HAVE PUBLISHED OPENING TIMES, SO TRY TO GET THERE 5 OR 10 MINUTES EARLY. IT WILL MAKE YOUR FIRST FEW RIDES OF THE DAY QUEUE FREE AND WILL ALSO MEAN THAT YOUR CAR ISN'T AT THE END OF THE WORLD WHEN YOU WANT TO LEAVE AND YOUR FEET ARE SORE.

Each park's page has a list of attractions and rides, together with a star rating out of 5* (*****). These ratings are based on what two adults think of the things, although people with children will probably come up with their own. However, there is one thing that I'd recommend and that is that you go on as many rides and see as many shows as you so that you can and make up your own mind.

So now you've learned a few basics about theme parks, its now time to pick one and find out what's waiting for you.
